Almost there.

Phew. I didn' t think it was ever going to load my blog interface. Lot's went on this past weekend.

Nikki and and I finally did the AI on Friday at the fertility clinic. Poor Nikki she had to go in and get poked everyday last week but Tuesday. We find out later next week if it worked!

Nikki's family also came down to visit us this weekend. They finally got to come down on a sunny weekend and hang out in the pool. Our little nephew, Tyler is bundle of energy. His favorite part of the weekend? "Chasing Oreo and going RAWR!" Oreo is our cat. I don't think that was her favorite part of the weekend. He also liked swimming in the pool.

Saturday night was the annual Christmas in July party hosted by Phlome and Ninsi. Its always a great time. Nikki and I never have very much luck with the gifts. I got the "Eagle". Its a somewhat gaudy stone eagle decoration. Its the traditional booby prize that comes back every year. Nikki got a lovely cow-print coffee carafe. You can see the picture here.

We are finally getting the shelves built into the game room this week. Our first major home improvement project. They contractors are finishing up right now and hopefully we will get the room all put together tonight. I'll put some pictures up of the final room when we get it done.

Still going.

A few months ago, (sheesh make that 7 moths ago) I commented on an article how no one has "personal" blogs anymore. Everyone just uses facebook or twitter now it seems. Blogs have somehow become the new small-business of the internet. Well I don't have any plans to turn this into a small busniess, I don't think my 8 readers and the 32,645 spam bots and web crawlers really constitutes a revenue-worthy readership. I did want to followup though and say yeah, okay, Paul Boutin, you were probably right. I'm still keeping this site going though. It's a hobby. I like it. I'm also on Facebook, and twitter, and hardly ever myspace. I don't think I'm the twitter demographic though. I like reading other people's "tweets", and I often think of things to "tweet" myself but I never get around to it.

Nikki and I are into round 2 of the fertility process. It's a little more difficult this month. We've already been to the clinic three times this week and are probably going back at least one more time. Well that's what you gotta do. Nikki's family is coming down to stay the weekend and we've got the annual Christmas in July party this Saturday which is always fun. Phlome says its going to be big this year.

Well I guess I better update before a month goes by without anything.

We had the Birthday bash on the 27th. Lots of folks came in from out of town and everyone had a great time. Unlike last year, where everyone was done and gone by about 9pm, this year there were still people hanging out in the pool well after midnight. Dre took some great pictures for us (as well as providing the music.) Thanks Dre!

Last Thursday was a big day too. That was the day we found out whether or not the first fertility treatment had succeeded. Alas it did not. So we are trying again this month. Hopefully happy news soon!

Last Thursday we also headed out to Hot Springs,AR for our annual 4th of July trip to Nikki's grandparents. It's always a good time, lots of food and fireworks! Nikki took some really cool pictures of the fireworks. You may need to login to facebook to see those.

The next big bike ride is this weekend. I've been trying to get in as much training as I can. I rode about 50 miles last week. I need to work up to about 100 miles a week in order to be ready for the Lone Star Ride this September. The Lone Star Ride is a 2-day 150 mile ride that supports AIDS charities. If you'd like to donate you can do so here.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
