The wedding went really well. Elanna was beautiful. Almost everything went as planned. None of the people we hired (caterer, photographer, florist, site) failed to do thier job, though somehow a few of them "forgot" a few things they were supposed to charge us for and wanted more money. The Minister ended up calling us "Mr and Mrs Roger Moore" at the end of the ceremony, so everyone was calling me "James Bond" after that. The only other thing was the music guy screwed up and played the first song from the reception CD instead of the traditional recessional song. The song that was played was "Laid" by James, which while an extremly cool song, isn't really appropriate for a recessional. I think most people weren't paying attention to the lyrics, a few of our friends complimented us on such an edgy choice, most people assumed that it was the wrong song. ("There's no way that was the song you wanted played right then.")
We spent a lot of time beforehand preparing a slideshow of pictures of the two of us to show at the reception. We rented a projecter from the site and the plan was to use my laptop to show the pictures. The projector turned out to be ancient however, with no vga input that could be used to connect a laptop. Luckily my laptop is new enough that it has an S-Video output, which thankfully would work with the projector. Elanna's brother made a quick trip to Best Buy and got an S-Video cable and JW got it all set up for us.
In case you missed it, or weren't at the wedding, Here is the wedding slideshow.
The photographer has the proofs from the wedding up on her website. I'm not sure if I can link to it externally. I so I'll post those links tomorrow.
I was working out tihs morning and the movie I was watching (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) finished about 10 minutes before I was done so I just flipped over to cable to watch the news. The commercial that was on when I flipped over was for "Budget Casket" If you're buying a casket for someone I'm not sure they would appreciate it coming from someplace called "Budget Casket." It's like your buying thier final resting place at Wal-Mart. Even better thier tagline in the commerical was "We will beat anyone's price or give you the headstone FREE!" I guess if you had to buy a casket for someone you didn't like very much Budget Casket might be the place for you. I'm not against someone offering low cost caskets really, but they should try and get a better name.
I'm back from the honeymoon now. Cruise to Spain, France, Italy if you didn't know before. It was great. I've been back since monday actually but haven't had much time to blog. I still don't really, I'm making myself late for a oncology checkup right now. So in brief forthcoming are:
