Should be more More Often

Here I was saying that once I was out of school that I would blog more but I've actually been blogging less. It's been pretty hectic this month. Elanna and I went home for Easter to visit family and get her house ready to sell. That included getting stuff ready for a garage sale, which we'll be having this weekend. I've been in Virginia Beach, VA for the past 2 weeks and I'll be back again next week. In fact, I'm flying directly from here to Tulsa for the garage sale then back here on Sunday. Bleah!

My friend, Reptile and his wife, from Florida will be moving here shortly. They came down last week for job interviews and it looks like they both will have job offers soon.

BTW, for those of you who don't know I don't use anyone's real name on my Blog. I always use a nickname, since this is open to the wide internet. Most everyone I know has an internet "nickname" so that makes it convenient. Maybe I’ll post a Who’s Who later.

Weekend Update

Well this weekend was action packed! Halo and his wife came down for he weekend. Friday we went out to Dinner with the Phlome, Ninisi, and Demi. For a change we went to Cheese Cake Factory instead of out favorite German Place. Speciality Dirty Martinis and Cheesecake are never a bad choice. Saturday we saw Phantom of the Opera, the musical, not the movie. It was good as always but they seemed to be having sound issues. Afterwards we hung out at Cru, which is still one of my all time favorite places to hang out. Not really a Bar but not really a restraunt either. It follows the wine-bar theme where you can order flights of wine and appetizers. YUM!

Sunday we went to Scarborough Faire. Giant Turkey Legs and Mead! Though the Mead was pretty bad this year. Apparently, Opening Day on Saturday was a huge hit. Lot's of the vendors were out of stock on some of thier items by Sunday Afternoon. The special "Apple Cider" was sold out in less than 2 hours. Elanna and I took the plunge and both some medival garb. I bought a poofy shirt, pants, bracers, a belt, a belt strap, and a tankard (very necessary) I still need boots, a belt pouch, jerkin and possibly a sword to complete my outfit. Those will probably have to wait till next year though or maybe Dragoncon.

Ptolus is a complete 672 Page D&D Campaign written by Monte Cook, one of the Original Designers of D&D.

I have no idea if I would ever use it but it's just too cool not to buy.

You also gets a ton of extra goodies for preordering!

And now for something completly different. For years now, when people would complain about Bush, my repsonse would be "Bush? Delay is the real problem." Well not anymore.

Phlome and Ninsi Wedding Weekend

This past weekend was the BIG EVENT. Last Thursday the whole crew headed out to Phlome's Bachelor Party. Dinner at Humperdinks then we headed over to the Lodge. The Lodge employs more Russian girls than you would imagine. I think the "Best-Woman", Prosper, might have had the most fun. She got one of the girls numbers. The party lasted till almost 4. And then of course, I got up at 8 to go play golf with Phlome, Reptile, Prosper, and Phlome's Brothers. I do not recommend playing golf hung-over, on 4 hours of sleep, on the first 90 degree day of the year.

Saturday was the wedding. I'm sure Phlome and Ninsi will have much more to say about it then I will. There was some concern because of the weather, but somehow it rained on us BEFORE and AFTER the ceremony but not DURING. I'm sure there will be many pictures and possibly Video of my officiating duties.

The wedding was an all-day event, ceremony at 11 then reception to follow. Then I invited all the out of town friends back to my place for a cookout to pass the time until the After Party that night.

It was a great time overall, and I was glad I could be a part of the wedding.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
