Better Late than Never

Well I wrote this last week and didn't publish it, so here it is now. The wedding went off well with only one snafu that was quickly resolved. More on the wedding later.

I'm in Fort Lauderdale Florida this week. Installing and upgrading networks as always. My latest course for school is nearly complete. Unfortunatley, all the work for this ocurse comes at the end. The class is over in a little less that 2 weeks and I have to complete my team project and my Final Exam by then. I've put a lot of work into both of them already but, of course with the impending wedding this weekend, I'm running short on time to work on school.

You can play UNO on X-Box live now.

Tycho wrote this on Penny Arcade the other day

"Games of skill and chance can bring a person's inner bastard to the fore, but I know of no other game that can turn a person into a complete fucker in the way that Uno does."

I'm prety sure he must have played UNO with Phlome.

Yes I rented it. It wasn't TERRIBLE, but I can't quite say it was good either. I think it falls solidly in the category of a Good Bad Movies. It was painfuly obvious that some scenes were cut out. (The hero suddenly has a magic sword that he didn't have in the previous scene.) It's filled with D&D references though. The characters are D&D archtypes, the monsters are striaght out of the game, and they even crawl thorugh a dungeon and figure out some traps. Overall, I'd say if you are a D&D fan rent it, otherwise it's pretty much a bad fantasy movie.

Hmm wow a whole week and no post. Travelling during the week for work and on the weekends for personal stuff leaves little time for writing. I was in Northumberland, PA this week, next week I'll be back in St. Paul,MN and the week after that in Fort Lauderdale,FL. It all comes crashing down then though. I'M done with travel on March 29th and then School ends April 6th. This weekend I'm back in Tulsa packing up all Elanna's stuff so she can move in. :) The wedding plans are all set now. Caterer, Florist, Site, and Photogrpaher are all set for Sept. 24th. The only thing left is to figure out a place for the rehearsal dinner.

Oh and BTW they have some really crazy signs on the highway in PA. "WARNING Agressive Driver Crash Area" and "Beware of Agressive Drivers" I guess Agressive Drivers are a big problem. My favorite had to be "Warning Speed Enforcement Zone" I'm pretty sure that one is warning you that ther is a speed trap ahead. It is coal mining country and the highways are lined with bars so I'm guessing "Agressive Driver" = "Drunk Driver"

The date is set now for September 24th at Stinchcomb Mansion in Tulsa. I think we may have also settled on a caterer, not sure yet though. The one we found is more expensive than I wanted but still less than the others. Flowers and Phototographer are still TBD.

I did manage to finish most of my first Project for School, which gives me some breathing room. I still only have one free weekend between now and April 22nd. So Far it looks like this
3/10 - Vegas Trip for Halo's B-Day
3/17 - Elanna Moving and Garage Sale
3/24 - No Plans (Probably an Enagement get together)
4/1 - Phlome/Ninsi's Wedding
4/8 - Halo Visiting
4/15 - Easter in Tulsa, meet some of Elanna's Famliy

Somehow I also have to fit in writing my second project for School and the Fianl Exam, both of which are Due on 4/6

Yes Yes I Know I haven't updated in a whille. I was in St. Paul.MN all week so I was very busy with work. Additionally I'm still busily working on school in the few spare moments. I'm back in Tulsa now making preparations for the wedding. I think we have decided on a place and a date now. September 24th! Final confirmation TBD. :)

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
