Well I am in the midst of schoolwork again. I just finished up my Mid-Term. It was 4 multi-part essay questions and I had to cite soucses for each answer. It was more like four mini-research papers than a true mid-term. It probably took me just as long to answer the essay questions as it would for me to study for a multiple-choice exam, so I guess it works out to be the same. Sheesh, how my expectations have changed. I was fearful of having to write a 10 page paper for my first Masters classs. Now I've written a 40 page paper for my last class and just turned in a Mid-Term that was roughly 20 pages. I long for the days of only having to write a 10 page term paper. I really have a weird attitude about school. When I finish a course,I'm really relieved to be done, but then I start to feel like I'm just sitting around doing nothing. As soon as the next course starts though I get stressed about having no free time anymore. Now that the Mid-Term is done I have 3 weeks to complete the first project. As soon as that is turned in I have 3 weeks to work on the second project, before the Final Exam. Both the projects are significant writing assignments and I'm sure that the Final will be like the Mid-Term. Oh I long for the days of multiple choice exams and 10 page papers.

Our adventure started Friday with an early flight from DFW to LaGuardia airport in NYC. We watched "Good Night and Good Luck" on the airplane, which I highly recommend. Friday Afternoon we decided to walk around and see some sites. The first place we went was the Rockefeller Center to go Ice Skating. Before we made it down to the Ice Rink to skate I proposed. I think she was stunned. I had thought about proposing while we were actually Ice Skating but I thought she might fall, so I did it right before. No Details on the Wedding yet, we're still looking at Dates and Places. All we know right now is that it will be in Tulsa.
We didn't Ice Skate for very long. I think the rental skates are intentionally uncomfortable so you won't steal them. In any case neither of us could stand to skate anymore after about 30 minutes.
After that we went to Famous Ray's and ate Real New York Pizza. We walked to what we thought was the Empire State Building but turned out to be the Chrysler Building, which we soon discovered you aren't allowed to go up into.
We already had tickets for Spamalot on Saturday night but the Hotel had tickets available for lots of shows that night. We decided to go see Mama Mia. It was incredible, especially if you are an Abba fan.
Saturday we got up early so we could to the Statue of Liberty. You have to make reservations in advance to go inside the statue but we walked around the outside, which is really all we could stand anyway. It is very very cold on Liberty Island in February.
We walked a little ways north from Battery Park and the Liberty Island ferry to Ground Zero. It was a very odd experience. Right now, it’s basically a big lot with a chain link fence around it. It was interesting to see all the other people there though, including the conspiracy theorists and the guy reciting the oral history of 9/11.
We headed back to the hotel fairly early so we could make our Dinner reservations at Tavern on the Green. It had begun to snow by the time we headed to Dinner and by the time we got out of Spamalot it was snowing quite heavily.
Spamalot was great. It's very close to the movie. It would have been much better if the guy sitting right behind me hadn't laughed out loud and EVERY SINGLE THING. I swear he was so loud the actors looked over at him at one point.
I got up the next morning to find the streets were covered by at least a foot of snow. I called the airline and sure enough our flight at 3pm had been cancelled. The earliest flight they could get us on was at 5:30 pm the next day! We decided to make the best of it got half-price tickets to go see Rent that afternoon and had dinner is a really nice Italian Restaurant.
Since we basically had most of the day Monday as well, we spent the morning in the American Museum of Natural History. The Dinosaur Skeletons are amazing, the rest of it was pretty normal.
The flight back took way too long and now I've very behind at work and school after extending my vacation for an extra day but it was a lot of fun!
I just got back from Savanah,GA. Flew there Sunday Night, installed a server, then flew back way to early Tuesday Morning (6 AM). Not too many flight choices out of Savannah though unless you want to go through Atlanta, which of course takes twice as long.
Elanna and I are headed to NYC for the weekend. We leave early tomorrow morning, and come back Sunday Night. Saturday we are going to see Spamalot and eat at the Tavern on the Green. I'm sure we'll do some touristy stuff like the Statue of Liberty. She wants to go Ice Skating at Rockfeller Center. I don't know how that will turn out, I've only been ice skating once and that was back in high school.

Check out theses screenshots from Rise Of Legends. Looks very cool. The Giant Steam Crab in this pic is my fave. Rise of Nations was a great game from a few years back that I highly recommend. This looks to be a fantasy/steampunk sequel.
