Back in Texas

I'm back home in Dallas now. After almost 2 weeks of visiting friends and family back in Oklahoma. I meant to be home Monday but my immune system had other ideas. Christmas was very good. I got lots of gift cards so now I need to go shopping! Though since I got lots of new video games too, I'll probably spend them all on fun stuff like gas logs and maybe a wine rack. I don't know how I'm ever going to play all the games that have coe out for christmas. In addition to the DS and World of Warcraft; I've got Half-life 2, KOTOR 2, the Bard's Tale, and Kingdom under Fire!

Tomorrow I go in for a new CT Scan and an MRI. Hopefully, they will show some improvement.

I'm still in the process of dealing with plumbers and the insurenece company to get my serwer line fixed, that's always a pain. I was hoping to get them started this week but of course the insurence company is pretty much shut down this week because of the holidays.

Now I just need a kick butt RPG

My girlfriend is the coolest cause she bought me this for Christmas.

Home for Christmas

I'm in OKC now. Drove here on Saturday and hung out with Halo and friends all weekend. I'm headin to Tulsa today to see more friends and visit the fam for Christmas. Everything is going well on the medical front. Today starts my wekk of low blood cell counts so I'll be watching out for sick people and keeping them at bay with a flamethrower.

The carpet guys are here and the house is in a shambles. They are getting it done pretty fast though. I expect they'll be done by at least 3 which leave me plenty of time to run some errands before I head out of town tomorrow. I'd post pics of the new carpet but until I can find the cable that has been stashed away I can't move pics from my camera to the pc.

Check out Ninsi's blog and read about how Luna finally put an end to the riegn of our "Yard Chupacabra" I have a "nice" pic of it too.

Holiday Craziness

Well thus begins my Holiday Craziness. Tomorrow they are coming to put in my new carpet, then it's off to Phlome and Ninsi's engagement party. Saturday I head to Oklahoma to see Family and friends for the holiday. I literally have plans to see someone everyday from this Saturday till Dec 26th. Whew....

Chemo side effects are going well. Some naseau but mostly just the jitteryness from the Prednisone. Thankfuly tomorrow is the last day for that. I probably won't be blogging as much while I'm on the road so MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Chemo Treatment 2

I had my second Chemo treatment yesterday. No big problems, they shot me full of anti-rejection drugs so I slept through most of it. There were n ocomplications like last time but it did take about 7 and half hours to get it done. Most of that was pent waiting. They didn't actully start the chemo infusion till sometime around 12:30 so the actual treamt only took about 4 hours. Having the Medi-port sped it up somewhat. I was really tired and sick all last night but I feel much better today. No need yet for even any anti-naseua drugs. I do have the horrible chemo-hiccups that I get after every treatment. Phlome and Tigger hung out read books while I was being infused and then we had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's, so I could get fresh veggies.

I also managed to acquire the Return King: Extended Edition last night at Wal-Mart. You'd think I was buying drugs or something:

Me: Do you have the New Return of the King DVD
Guy in the Electronics Dept: Yeah...(looks around) talk to tht guy back there.

Me: Do you have the new Return of the King DVD?
Guy at Counter: Yeah. The one that comes out tomorrow.
Me: Yes
Guy: The Special Edition?
ME Yes
Guy: (Reaches into a cart covered in other DVDs and pulls one out.)
Here ya go.
ME: Can I have 2 more, thier Christmas gifts?
Guy: (Look like he might not give them to me then pulls out 2 more.)

Medi-port Installation Sucessful

No problems with the Mediport insertion today. I was out by noon, and went and had lunch with Phlome. Now I'm already for my next Chemo treamtment on Monday. Not really. The thought of the Chemo room still makes me queasy. Hopefully, the Rituxin won't be so bad this time. Symptom of the Week: Hairloss and Mouth Sores. I'll be getting my head shaved tommorrow, I'll be sure and post pictures for y'all. Headin out to go see Blade Trinity with Demi and some other friends. I'll let you know how it is.

No Jump Today.

Well due to some confusion between the Hospital and the Doctors office over what anethesia would be used, they can't do the surgery today. Looks like we'll try again tomorrow. I really wanted to have it over and done with.

Ohhh that's gotta hurt.

It was an action packed weekend. First Phlome and I got up early Saturday morning to go play paintball! That was a lot of fun despite not be able to run or coughing a lot. I manged to crawl along the ground pretty well and give flying paint as good as I got it. Of course my positioning meant I only really had one avialble target, my head. I took six paintballs right on the face mask. Then in the very last battle I saw one coming for me and ducked, but I wasn't quite fast enough and it nailed me in the forehead. I thik everyone heard me yell when it hit.

Saturday night, we celebrated Monketo's birthday with a Zombie party. We dressed like zombies, ate brain cake, and played Zombie Games. Some people might have even drank the magic zombie creating elixir (beer).

Sunday was a 40k Battle Royale with Speed Freaks, Necrons, Dark Eldar, and Death Gaurd facing off against each other. This battle proved that while all vehicle armies are fun they're aren't very effective.

In health news, I'm going in to have the mediport installed tommorrow. In by 10am out by 4pm, or say they say. We'll see. Phlome is going along as my sidekick d'jour, so no worries about me driving home after surgery.

Maybe they don't come in different colors.

Wednesday night I got to attend the yearly Funimation Cast party thanks to Phlome and one of the Funimation Directors who told them I was his "date." Thanks Guys! It was fun to see all the people who do Voice Acting for a living get up and do Karaoke. One guy sang a song as Popeye. Apparently, if you are a voice actress you MUST have red hair. I counted at least 6 natural redheads and untold numbers with dyed red hair. There was also one buy with blue hair but I think having blue hair and working for an anime compmay is like working at a corporation and wearing dress pants.

Everything is going as planned on the medical front. I went as had my blood tested yesterday to check my blood cell counts. My white blood cell count was 1300, a normal white blood cell count is arounf 5000. So much for mine not dropping too much. I have no idea what those numbers mean btw, Halo can probably explain it. I go next Tuesday to have my Medi-port installed. Should be too much trouble. I'm supposed to be at the Hospital by 10 am and I'll be out before 5. I forsee a lot of sitting around.

Kal'el has his own blog now. Go check it out. He's got a pretty neat color scheme going on and he's a cool guy even if he does like Silverchair. (J/K)

I'm definitely not bored.

I've spent so much time answering emails latley I've negeleted the blog. I still have like 5 or 6 emails to answer. So far so good this week. I'm supposed to have low white and red blood cell counts, but not having a home phlebotomy kit I have no idea if this is true. I sure felt run-down Monday and Tuesday. I didn't realize how bad till this morning when I actually felt normal. I've had some kind of chest-head cold thing since last Tuesday. The Chemo, the cancer, and all the other drugs I have to take all play hell with your immune system so I figure this will be the norm for the next few months.

Everyone asks "What are you doing with your time now that your not working?" or "Are you getting bored?" I'm not. I have no idea where the time goes. People call to see how I'm doing. I answer a lot of email. I try and keep up with what's going on at work. Seems like I have to spend at least 2 hours on the phone a day with a Doctor or the insurence company or the horrifc "Reward Administration Center" who handles my disability. I'm still trying to get them to explain why they are withholding more taxes out of my disability check than my regular paycheck even though disability is only 75% of my salary.

I'm also trying to get something, ANYTHING from MD Anderson. I've had one phone call from them since I went there and haven't received anything from them in the way of a second opinion. I'm thinking of calling them today and telling them I'm not paying them. I doubt they'll care. I did get the bill in the mail for my Biopsy. $14,000 The insurence paid for most of it but I still have to pay 10%. Good thing they take Visa.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
