I think most people have found out now either from me or through the grapevine, but I know some of you keep up with me on the blog so I wanted to let you know what's going on. I had a weird pain in my back and shoulders all day on Friday. By about 2am Sunday morning the pain was unbearable. I took a Vikaden and it was no help at all. I try to avoid hospitals at all costs so I toughed it out and went to a Minor Emergency Center early Saturday morning. The Doctor at the MEC could not figure out what was going on, so he did a chest x-ray to give us some more info. I thought I might have somehow broken a rib or something. What he found was that the pain in my chest was caused by a large tumor. I was told I needed to go to the Hospital Emergency Room Immediately. I was at the hospital most of the day on Saturday. They ran tests, and X-Rays, and a CAT scan and determined that yes, it was definatley a tumor. I was kind of oblivious to all this until they got the pain under control. When I was coherent, I spoke with the Doctors. They told me that the tumor wasn't dangerous,(other than excrutiating pain I guess) but it needed to be treated right away. It being late on a Saturday, they couldn't schedule anything till Monday. As long as the pain was bearable with the medication they felt it would be better for me to rest at home until then. Tommorrow, I'm checking into the hospital so they can run more comprehensive tests, and then on Tuesday do a Biopsy. After the results of the Biopsy then I find out what my treatment options are.
I probably won't be blogging for a while or at least intermittently at best. I will try and keep the blog updated if I can so everyone can check on how I'm doing. The hospital where I'll be at is Baylor Grapevine. If you need more info you can call my cell, and whoever answers it will be able tell you what's going on. Or get in touch with Phlome, he'll know what's going on as well.
